However, it has since been extended to support also other common geospatial files: GeoJSON, [zipped shapefiles](https://guides.dataverse.org/en/latest/developers/geospatial.html), KML, and CSV with columns for latitude and longitude coordinates. Moreover, it provides an interface to directly search [GRO.data](https://data.goettingen-research-online.de/) and add geospatial files to the map.

Besides loading your own files by URL or your local computer, GeoMapper provides the option to directly search [GRO.data](https://data.goettingen-research-online.de/) either by keywords or by drawing a rectangular search area on the map. If the search results contain geospatial files, they can be added to the map.
You can also use GeoMapper to draw and add your own bounding box to your GRO.Data Dataset. The bounding box represents the geographic context of your Dataset and forms the basis for the map search functionality.
